Zombie Performance Troupe Forming to Entertain and Freak People Out
Our "Scream Ambassadors"

Corpse This troupe of ten highly trained zombies will be the first point of contact for guests. They will be the official representatives for Scream at the Beach ... one might say they will be our "Scream Ambassadors."

What will they do?
They will appear at a variety of public events, such as: concerts, fairs, movie theaters at horror film releases, night clubs, Saturday Market, schools, Jammin' 95 street marketing appearances, parties, and more. At these activities they will pass out promotional materials and provide entertainment.

They will also go with our marketing guru to make presentations to potential sponsors and charities. At these "board meetings" they will pass out proposals and interact with the members of the organization (search for brains - with no luck finding any).

In October this troupe will greet guests as they arrive to the event and will provide entertainment while guests wait in lines.

Sample Antics: They will perform dance routines to music, strut around in a funny zombie fashion show, fight over litter that they find on the ground, pose with guests for pictures and interact with guests to keep them entertained.

Zombies Costume and Makeup
Each member of the troupe will be issued their own costume, mask and gloves, and the care of these items will be the performer's responsibility. Zombies will decorate their own masks and gloves so they won't all look the same, and so they can add personality to their character. Masks and gloves are hand washable; costumes are machine washable (on the delicate setting). The eyes and lips of the performers will be airbrushed a dark brown before they put on their masks. Cleanup supplies will be provided for removing makeup. If you appear at every scheduled performance (or unless you are excused from performing), you will be allowed to keep your zombie mask at the end of the season.

Training
Training began on Saturday, May 1st 2004, and ongoing workshops will include: learning dance routines, vocalizations, and movement. A schedule of ongoing training workshops will be forwarded to all participants.

Who Can Tryout?
Obviously, since there is dancing involved, we want athletic individuals who can move to a beat. Think of a cross between Michael Jackson's Thriller and Dawn of the Dead and you will come close to what we are looking for. Individuals must be over 18 years old, or 16 with parental consent. We also want parity of gender represented, so 5 male and 5 female individuals will be chosen. Rehearsal dates and location to be announced. You will sign a release form so we can use your image and voice in promotional materials. Please indicate on the sign-up form if you have any professional or semi-professional dance experience.

Procedures
We will meet at a central location to prepare (makeup and costumes) and then board a van or carpool to and back from the performance sites.

Do I Have to Participate in Every Appearance?
No—between now and October, but you will be expected to appear at as many as you are able—all if you can.
Yes—for every day we are open in October, so check your social/vacation calendar and the event calendar (http://www.screamatthebeach.com) to make sure you do not have any conflicts. Individuals who do not perform as scheduled will not be asked to return in subsequent seasons. Please take this role seriously and do not offer your services if you know in advance that you will not be able to perform due to preexisting or very probable schedule conflicts.

Other Exciting Details
FAN CLUB: Your picture will be posted on the website (both with and without your mask) along with a short bio underneath. Zombie Fans will be able to send you fan mail, and they will be able to receive a personal reply (automatically generated reply that you will write) that will include an autographed picture of yourself that they can print. Members will also be helping to support our efforts to raise funds for the American Red Cross. Now doesn't that sound tempting?!
