Safety Tips

Not that Scream at the Beach is an unsafe environment—it's very safe. We go to extreme measures to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable experience. But sometimes folks find the frights to be too overwhelming, and they can have a severe reaction. Our monsters have caused everything from panic attacks to wet pants. So, in the spirit of keeping this a positive experience for you, here are some helpful tips for surviving a visit to Scream at the Beach.

  1. Go with an attitude for having fun. This is scary entertainment. You will be screaming...a lot. Or you may be the safe haven that someone climbs on top of to get away from something writhing on the floor. Hero for someone else, or wet pants victim—be in a party mood and you will have fun!
  2. Ask for help if you need it. We have trained medical personnel on site for medical problems, and our actors will be happy to assist you find a way out if you've had your fill.
  3. Select a place to regroup if you get separated. Do this when you arrive.
  4. Do not use flashlights inside the haunted house—this ruins the experience for other guests. Instead, ask for assistance. Even if you can't see us, we can see you by using infared technology, and we will be happy to help.
  5. Do not enter the haunted house if you know that you have issues with tight spaces, dark environments, strobelights, are pregnant, have heart disease, or any other issue that could cause an early death. While we appreciate the offer of your body to add to our collection, our first and highest priority is your safety!
  6. Safety in Numbers: Bring some friends for protection and hide in the middle. Of course, that's what we look for, so you may still be the victim of our antics, but your chances will be greater if you try to hide.
One last suggestion: bring a change of underwear or wear adult diapers...just in case.


Guest Code of Conduct
Scream at the Beach's goal is to provide entertainment to guests of all ages in a fun and safe environment appropriate for children and families. To encourage all our guests to be considerate of other guests, they are required to comply with the following rules for expected guest conduct.

Behavior: All guests are expected to behave in an appropriate family-friendly manner. Unruly, disruptive or offensive behavior, including line-jumping is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. Violations of this policy may be cause for ejection from the event site without refund.

Dress Code: In keeping with our family-friendly atmosphere, and for health and safety reasons, Scream at the Beach strictly enforces a dress code. Proper attire must be worn at all times, including shirts and appropriate footwear. Clothing with rude, vulgar or offensive language or graphics is not permitted at any time. Admission may be denied if clothing is deemed by management to be inappropriate.

Language: Guests using profanity or abusive language, symbols or gestures may be ejected from the haunt without refund.

Litter: Guests must not create litter, or throwing, discarding or depositing any paper, glass or other matter of any kind in the Jantzen Beach Center, except in designated trash receptacles.

Soliciting: No guest may solicit money or other contributions of donations, or distribute commercial or non-commercial advertising or promotional material of any kind, or offering samples of items which are sold, available for sale, or available in exchange for a donation or contributions or scalping tickets, or engaging in any other commercial activity without written permission of the management of Scream at the Beach.

Drugs & Weapons: Possessing any alcoholic beverage, illegal drug, firearm, knife or any weapon of any kind is cause for immediate ejection from the event site without refund.

Haunt policy compliance: Guest safety is our top priority. In addition to the Scream at the Beach Guest Code of Conduct, guests are required to comply with all local, state and federal laws as well as individual haunt policies, rules and instructions posted or otherwise listed.
