Auditions Schedule

  • Musicians, Singers, Puppeteers, Dancers, Stunt Performers, and Actors with Athletic skills - Contact our Casting Director or call 503-288-2037 if you are interested in joining our Entertainment Team and to schedule an interview.

  • 2008 Season Auditions
    When: Wed-Fri, August 20-22 & 27-29, 6pm to 9pm - contact Kris at 503-807-0151 or send him an email to kris@screamatthebeach.com with your preferred day and time.
    Where: Scream at the Beach Casting Center located inside the Jantzen Beach SuperCenter, space #1404 (just north of the food court)
    Who: Anyone ages 16 and up
    Auditions for all Cast Members will take place on these evenings and will include some improvisational exercises and chances to scream your guts out!

    The kinds of roles you qualify for will be determined by how well you do at these tryouts. Everyone who is cast this season must appear at one of these auditions to be considered for the 2008 cast, including actors from previous years.

    Preparing for your audition

    If you consider yourself a beginner to the world of auditions... this area is for you! We have a lot of basic information that is good to know for your Scream at the Beach audition... and any audition for that matter.

    We want to make sure you're prepared, relaxed, and comfortable for your audition. Let's talk about some of the things you'll need to know.

    First, we'll talk a bit about what to expect when you come to an audition, then what to prepare and bring with you, and finally some other good tips to help you have a great experience.

Monster College

  • September 6th, 6pm to 9pm - Introduction - Acting Basics & Scare Techniques
    Come meet the gang and learn all about Scream at the Beach. We'll watch a video, talk about what you can expect to happen during the event, discuss the incentives and opportunities for fun, and take a tour of the new attractions.

    We'll also learn how to become effective monsters in an acting class that will cover such topics as: A) Presentation: acting styles, movement, props, costuming and accessories, makeup and voice. B) Approach: timing, slow vs. fast, startle techniques, perspective, alternate reality, fight or flight. C) Interaction: create a dialogue, respond to your victim, read your victim, give them the unexpected. There is a lot to learn so come prepared to soak it all in!

  • September 13th, 6pm to 9pm - Safety, Policies & Procedures
    We'll cover important Safety information, including some quick medical training to handle emergencies, followed by an overview of our policies and procedures that we use to keep things flowing smoothly all month long.

  • September 20th, 6pm to 9pm - In Haunt Training, Final Costume and Prosthetic Fittings
    This is a big night for learning our roles in position within the attractions. We'll also handle final fittings for costumes and any prosthetics that may be required for your character.

  • September 27th - Dress Rehearsal
    This is our "Dress Rehearsal," a great chance for us to practice in full costume and makeup before opening to the public the following week. Special guestsm including your family members may be invited to see this show.
